Made a last minute booking for a shared 4 hour AM bottom fishing trip. Crew was extremely friendly and great to go out with. We didn't catch any trophies however everyone caught at least 4-5 fish. Snapper and Rock Bass mainly. The crew caught a 1000lb Marlin the day before. I would book them again if I make it to the island.

We booked a full-day, seven-hour fishing trip aboard the Our Mary, and what an incredible day it was.
The highlight was watching our nine-year-old son hook an albacore tuna. After an amazing 20-minute fight, he managed to land it completely by himself — a moment he will never forget.
We also did some bottom fishing, catching a snapper and a grouper, before heading back out trolling. Our son also caught a baby mahi-mahi, which made the day even more special.
Along the way, we were lucky enough to see dolphins and a giant manta ray.
A fantastic experience from start to finish, with wonderful memories made by the whole family.

Waren heute bei Capitan Jose auf dem Boot und es war super er war sehr nett und macht auchmal ein paar späße waren auf Bootom Fishing und haben einige Fische gefangen er tut alles dafür das seine Gäste zu einem Fisch kommen und fährt zu den Spots wo die Fische stehen das einzige Mann müsste klar machen das es bei der 4 Stunden Tour nur Getränke und kein Essen gibt und vielleicht noch die anfahrt nicht in die Zeit mit rein Rechnet ansonsten Top!!

We were very disappointed with this fishing trip. We paid a significant amount of money, but after several hours of trolling we didn’t catch a single fish or even have any real action. We understand that fishing cannot guarantee a catch, but for the price we expected a much better overall experience. Unfortunately, it did not feel like good value for money, and we left disappointed.

Hi Mrs Ieva, we understand the dissapointment. We ourselves sometimes feel the same because we always try our best to get some big fish on the Big Game fishing, but we cannot guarantee nothing. Actually after your trip (if it was on Sunday morning as we think, a 4 hour trip), on the same day we went out in the afternoon at 14h00 and did the same type of fishing for Big Game and caught 1 Big Eye tuna with 110 Lbs... So please understand this is always a question of luck. Maybe a nice reccomendation would be to try some bottom fishing wich you are a bit more succesfull to catch something (difference is fish are more medium and small sized...). But thank you. The service was great – there were free drinks and snacks – but unfortunately the ocean didn’t give us any fish; however, the views were beautiful and we saw whales many times. A great experience

7 Std. Tagestour für 265€ gebucht. Start war um 09:30 - 16:30. Freundliche Crew, kalte Getränke, Essen könnte besser sein, es gab Thunfisch aus der Dose auf Salat und Supermarkt Brötchen. 2 Std. trawlern danach Grundfischen Dana h wieder Trawlern. Wir haben nichts gefangen. Warum die zwei Sterne? Der Kapitän hat uns beim Grundfischen extrem gestresst. Wir haben in Tiefen von über 100 Metern gefischt. Weil nach 60 Sekunden nichts gebissen hat, Kommando alle Angeln einholen wir fahren zum nächsten Spot, dort gleiches Spiel. Wir haben insgesamt 7 Spots ausprobiert und waren dort nie länger als fünf Minuten. Das war in Verbindung mit dem Befehltston vom Kapitän sehr stressig für alle. Wir wurden als Gruppe nicht einmal gefragt ob wir noch an einem Spot bleiben wollen und mit ein bisschen Geduld doch noch etwas fangen. Angeln ist für mich Entspannung mit einem Bierchen. Hier war es nur Stress und ich war froh das Schiff wieder zu verlassen. Keine Empfehlung !

Hi Mr Sigl, as you know we tried our best but some days in fishing is not as good as other days... maybe that's why captain was feeling a bit of the pressure to get some fish. Somedays you have a good day, but maybe it was not such a good day for Captain for some personal reason... but we need to go out and try our best. Ich habe die Tour mit unseren Jungs gebucht, weil wir selbst angeln und auch gerne Fisch essen.

Vorweg:
Die Crew war freundlich, hilfsbereit und die Organisation lief reibungslos. Ruten, Köder, Unterstützung bei Drill – alles hat funktioniert. Daran gibt es nichts auszusetzen.

Was für mich jedoch den gesamten Eindruck verändert hat, war der Umgang mit den Fischen.

Hier wurde in etwa 100 m Tiefe geangelt. Die Fische, die dabei an Bord gelandet wurden, hatten  zwangsläufig deutliche Druckschäden (Barotrauma). Fische, die nicht behalten werden durften (z. B. wegen Artenschutz oder Größe), wurden  dann wieder zurückgesetzt – obwohl sie sichtbare Schäden hatten.

Noch unschöner fand ich, dass die gefangenen Fische nicht unmittelbar betäubt oder getötet wurde. Sie wurden in eine Box gelegt und dort gelassen bis der Trip vorbei war, zu dem Zeitpunkt (4h später) waren sie dann natürlich tot, bzw. erstickt .

Mir ist klar, dass diese Abläufe in dieser Form der Hochsee-Grundfischerei nicht ungewöhnlich sind und vermutlich auch regelkonform. Aber genau das ist es auch was mich nachdenklich gemacht hat.

Ich bin nicht grundsätzlich gegen das Angeln – im Gegenteil. Ich habe nur heute für mich festgestellt, dass diese Art des Fischens nicht das ist, was ich unterstützen möchte.

Ich schreibe das nicht als Vorwurf, sondern als ehrlichen Hinweis:
Wer so eine Tour bucht, sollte sich bewusst sein, wie der Umgang mit den Fischen tatsächlich aussieht.

Für mich war es die erste und letzte Tour dieser Art.

I see the negative comments, but I saw none of the issues, staff was gracious and kind, as well as informative. I did very well catching several species of fish and the Captain Offered me to take what fish I wanted, I took only a handful, but overall a fantastic trip. I recommend. Note, you report the the booth for the trip which is the other side of the wharf with the other booths.

I would like to share my own experience, because I have read several negative reviews, yet my experience was completely different. Overall, I had a very positive time.
I participated in a 4-hour fishing trip, and my wife and our two young sons joined me as well. Throughout the entire tour, the crew was extremely attentive and helpful. We focused on bottom fishing, which is the most effective method during this time of year. The captain was constantly searching for good spots, using the radar and moving the boat as needed. We fished at least 8-10 different locations during the trip.
They always explained what to do and how to do it properly. The second crew member continuously changed the bait and helped us with everything. We were offered drinks, soft drinks, and snacks. The trip was enjoyable even with children, which is not always easy.
I personally caught 8–10 decent-sized fish and was pleasantly tired by the end of the trip. No one in our group went home empty-handed. Thank you for the great experience!
